Awake, O Sleeper — The Five-Alarm Fire of Awakening
May we hear Elohim like Shmuel (Samuel) heard Him — and may none of our words fall to the ground.
May every word we speak be truth, carried by the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit), and may all that we do in the Spirit last forever.
As the Scripture says, “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, works for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.”— 2 Corinthians 4:17
We are not living for what fades, but for what endures. In this age of confusion, it’s vital that we choose the right goals and the right motivation for life — not for applause or comfort, but for eternal impact.
The Call of the Servant — Isaiah 49:5–6
“And now says YHWH, who formed Me from the womb to be His Servant,
to bring Ya‘akov (Jacob) back to Him,
so that Yisrael (Israel) is gathered to Him;
He says, ‘It is too small a thing that You should be My Servant
to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved ones of Israel;
I will also give You as a light to the nations,
that You should be My salvation to the ends of the earth.’”— Yeshayahu (Isaiah) 49:5–6
Hebrew Exegesis “Too small a thing” — נָקֵל מֵהֱיוֹתְךָ (naqel meheyotekha): literally, “It is too light a task.”
Restoring Israel is not the full weight of the Servant’s calling; it’s just the beginning.
“Raise up the tribes of Jacob” — לְהָקִים אֶת־שִׁבְטֵי יַעֲקֹב (lehakim et-shivtei Ya‘akov): hakim means to resurrect, to re-establish — covenant language of restoration.
“Preserved ones of Israel” — נְצוּרֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל (netzurei Yisrael): the remnant protected through exile and fire, guarded for His purpose.
Yeshua, the Eved YHWH (Servant of the LORD), fulfills this prophecy — not only restoring Israel but carrying the light of redemption to the nations. Elohim’s dream has always been global, yet it begins with His covenant people.
The Example of the Servant — John 13:12–15 “So after He had washed their feet, taken His garments, and sat down again, He said to them, ‘Do you know what I have done to you?
You call Me Teacher and Lord, and you say well, for so I am.
If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you.’”
— Yochanan (John) 13:12–15
Cultural Background
In the ancient Near East, foot washing was the lowest act of service — reserved for slaves, never for a rabbi. By taking the towel, Yeshua HaMashiach reversed the hierarchy of honor and redefined greatness.
This act, on the eve of Pesach (Passover), symbolized the cleansing before redemption — linking to the mikveh (ritual washing) and the Exodus. The One who would soon shed His blood for the world first knelt to wash the dust from His disciples’ feet.
The Way of Greatness — Humility and Service
“The greatest among you shall be your servant.” — Mattityahu (Matthew) 23:11–12
“Unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven.” — Matthew 18:3–4
“For who is greater, the one who sits at the table or the one who serves?
But I am among you as One who serves.” — Luke 22:26–27
The Messiah calls His followers — His Kehilah (community of believers) — to serve, not to be served. True greatness is not in titles or influence, but in humility and obedience.
Standing Strong in an Hour of Testing
Israel stands again under attack — militarily, politically, spiritually.
As hatred rises globally, antisemitism is no longer hidden in the shadows. It’s shouted in streets, preached in universities, and echoed in the digital realm.
But we remember:
Confusion is not new — it is the enemy’s ancient weapon.
We pray for security in Yehudah (Judea), Shomron (Samaria), and ‘Azza (Gaza). We remember those taken captive and those released. We pray that every word aligned with truth will remain, and every falsehood will fall.
“Actions speak louder than words.” Even President Trump, known for decisive action, embodies that ethos: do, not just say. The same must be true of us.
We don’t only talk about standing with Israel — we do it.
“We pray that all may come to the knowledge of the truth.” — 1 Timothy 2:4
Awakening the West — “Wake Up, O Sleeper”
As the darkness grows, Elohim is sounding a wake-up call.
“I am the Light of the world.” — Yochanan 8:12
“The Sun of Righteousness shall rise with healing in His wings.” — Malachi 4:2 (מַלְאַכִי)
“In Him was life, and that life was the light of men.” — John 1:4–5

Message Outline — “Awake, O Sleeper, and the Messiah Will Give You Light”
Texts: Isaiah 52:1–2; Isaiah 60:1–3; Ephesians 5:14; Romans 13:11–12
Themes: Repentance · Revival · Restoration · Return
The Cry of the Prophets — Zion Called to Awaken
“Awake, awake, put on your strength, O Zion… Shake yourself from the dust and arise.” — Isaiah 52:1–2
The Hebrew עוּר (ʿur) means to stir from sleep. Zion is a slumbering bride; Elohim commands her to rise because redemption is near.
The Light of Messiah — The Dawn Breaking Through Darkness
“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of YHWH has risen upon you.” — Isaiah 60:1–3
The word אוֹר (or) means illumination — both spiritual and national. The presence of the Messiah bursts through despair to restore purpose.
The Awakening of Israel — From Exile to Promise
Just as Ezekiel saw dry bones come to life, the rebirth of modern Israel is proof that Elohim keeps His promises.
“Then He said to me, ‘Prophesy to the breath… and they lived, and stood upon their feet, an exceedingly great army.’” — Ezekiel 37:10
The Call to the Nations — Arise and Shine with Her
The Gentiles are not spectators but partners in redemption. The same light that revives Israel calls the nations to walk in truth.
The Coming Dawn — The Return of the King
“Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Messiah will shine upon you.” — Ephesians 5:14
This midrashic echo bridges Passover and Resurrection — from bondage to liberty, from darkness to light.
The Present Crisis — History Repeating Itself
In Canada, a 70-year-old Jewish woman was stabbed in Ottawa. In Manchester, a synagogue burned.
The atmosphere feels eerily familiar — Kristallnacht, the “Night of Broken Glass.”
November 9–10, 1938 — a state-organized pogrom across Nazi Germany and Austria:
Over 1,400 synagogues burned,
7,500 Jewish businesses looted,
Around 100 Jews murdered,
30,000 men imprisoned in concentration camps.
The spirit of that night is rising again. Yet this time, the world must not remain silent.
Falsehood spreads fast — “Jews control the media,” “Israel commits genocide” — yet those very channels often fuel anti-Israel sentiment.
In a recent letter dated May 2, 2025, commentator Charlie Kirk wrote:
“Israel is losing the information war and needs a communications intervention… even in conservative circles support is slipping. This should be a five-alarm fire.”
The Five-Alarm Fire — A Call to Action
In firefighting terms:
1-Alarm → local response.
2-Alarm → reinforcements required.
3-Alarm → multi-district emergency.
4-Alarm → citywide crisis.
5-Alarm → every resource deployed — total mobilization.
Beloved, Israel and the body of believers are facing a five-alarm spiritual fire. It’s time for the Kehilah to wake up and engage every front — prayer, media, action, compassion, and truth.
“They cry ‘Peace, peace,’ but there is no peace.” — Jeremiah 6:14 (יִרְמְיָהוּ)
Focus of the Battle — The Next Generation
We must protect our young people — train them to discern truth, to stand for Israel, to love righteousness.
They are the “light in Goshen” while darkness covers the land.
“There was light in all the dwellings of the children of Israel.” — Exodus 10:23
Yes, Elohim can prepare a table in the wilderness!
“Can Elohim prepare a table in the wilderness?” — Psalm 78:19
He did it before, and He will do it again.
The good news is that while evil sets its fires, Elohim is igniting His own five-alarm fire — the fire of awakening.
A holy blaze of righteousness is sweeping the earth.
The Rise of a New Generation
“Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament, and those who turn many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever.”
— Daniel 12:3 (דָּנִיֵּאל)
The next generation is arising — bold, uncompromising, filled with light.
They will shine like the stars, because they carry the flame of the Messiah Yeshua, the Light of the world.
Let us bless them, affirm them, and speak life over them.
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue.” — Proverbs 18:21
We, as the Kehilah, have the power to bless and to affirm what is good.
Let us choose life — let us speak light.
Final Call — Arise and Shine
This is not a time to shrink back.
It is a time to arise, shine, and let the glory of Elohim be revealed through us.
We will not repeat the mistakes of history.
We will remember, we will speak, and we will act.
May we, like Shmuel HaNavi (Samuel the Prophet), hear the voice of Elohim clearly in our generation.
May our words not fall to the ground,
but take root, bear fruit, and echo into eternity.
“Arise, shine, for your light has come,
and the glory of YHWH has risen upon you.” — Isaiah 60:1
Let the sleepers awaken.
Let the nations see the light of the Messiah Yeshua.
Let the fire of truth spread faster than the lies.
Let the five-alarm fire of goodness sweep the earth.
For Elohim is not finished with Israel,
and He is not finished with us.
“Comfort, comfort My people,” says your Elohim. — Isaiah 40:1
