Anointed to Heal, Restore, and Rebuild: A Prophetic Call to the Kehilah
The Anointing of the Messiah (Luke 4:16–21 / לוקס ד׳:ט״ז–כ״א)

וַיָּבֹא אֶל־נָצְרַת אֲשֶׁר נִגְדַּל בָּהּ, וּכְמִנְהָגוֹ בְּיוֹם הַשַּׁבָּת נִכְנַס לַבֵּית הַכְּנֶסֶת וַיָּקָם לִקְרוֹת.
וַיִּתְּנוּ לוֹ אֶת־סֵפֶר יְשַׁעְיָהוּ הַנָּבִיא; וּכְפָתְחוֹ אֶת־הַסֵּפֶר מָצָא אֶת־הַמָּקוֹם אֲשֶׁר כָּתוּב שָׁם:
רוּחַ אֲדֹנָי עָלַי, יַעַן מָשַׁח אוֹתִי לְבַשֵּׂר עֲנָוִים; שְׁלָחַנִי לִקְרוֹא לִשְׁבוּיִם דְּרוֹר, וְלַעִוְרִים פְּקִיחַ קוֹחַ; לְשַׁלֵּחַ נִדְכָּאִים בַּחָפְשִׁיּוּת;

And He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up; and as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day and stood up to read.
And there was given to Him the scroll of the prophet Isaiah. And when He had opened the scroll, He found the place where it was written:
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,
because He has anointed Me to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent Me to proclaim liberty to the captives
and recovery of sight to the blind,
to set free those who are oppressed,
to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”
And He rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant, and sat down.
And the eyes of all who were in the synagogue were fixed on Him.
Then He began to say to them, “Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”
Yeshua, the Messiah, reads Isaiah 61 and declares it fulfilled. The Ruach (Spirit) rests upon Him to bind the brokenhearted, proclaim liberty, and inaugurate the acceptable year of YHWH. This is not abstract religion; it is the anointing that turns mourning into rebuilding, exile into Aliyah, and despair into tehillah (praise).
Comfort for the Broken Heart (Isaiah 40:1–2 / ישעיהו מ׳:א׳–ב׳)

נַחֲמוּ נַחֲמוּ עַמִּי, יֹאמַר אֱלֹהֵיכֶם.
דַּבְּרוּ עַל־לֵב יְרוּשָׁלִַם, וְקִרְאוּ אֵלֶיהָ,
כִּי מָלְאָה צְבָאָהּ, כִּי נִרְצָה עֲוֹנָהּ,
כִּי לָקְחָה מִיַּד יְהוָה, כִּפְלַיִם בְּכָל־חַטֹּאתֶיהָ.
English:
“Comfort, comfort My people,” says your Elohim.
Speak tenderly to Jerusalem,
and proclaim to her that her warfare has ended,
that her iniquity has been pardoned,
for she has received from the hand of YHWH
double for all her sins.
The Kehilah’s first duty in this hour is not debate but comfort—practical and prophetic—toward Zion. Comfort is not passive; it acts, gives, builds, accompanies, and fulfills prophecy.
Strength in Returning and Rest (Isaiah 30:15 / ישעיהו ל׳:ט״ו)
Hebrew:
כִּי כֹה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה קְדוֹשׁ יִשְׂרָאֵל:
בְּשׁוּבָה וָנַחַת תִּוָּשֵׁעוּ;
בְּהַשְׁקֵט וּבִטְחָה תִּהְיֶה גְבוּרַתְכֶם;
וְלֹא אֲבִיתֶם.
English:
For thus says Adonai YHWH, the Holy One of Israel:
“In returning and rest you will be saved;
in quietness and trust will be your strength—
but you were not willing.”
The way forward for Israel and for every believer is teshuvah (return)—not the flight to Egypt (human security), but the return to Elohim and to His promises. Quiet trust births true strength.
Worship That Wins Battles (2 Chronicles 20:15, 25 / דברי הימים ב׳ כ׳)
When a coalition rose against Judah in the days of King Jehoshaphat, the prophetic word came:

“Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but Elohim’s.” — 2 Chronicles 20:15 / דברי הימים ב׳ כ׳:ט״ו
Judah advanced with singers first, and Elohim turned their enemies against each other. The victory was so complete that:

“They were three days in gathering the spoil, it was so much.” — 2 Chronicles 20:25 / דברי הימים ב׳ כ׳:כ״ה
This is a pattern for the Kehilah: worship precedes warfare, and praise disarms fear. Yeshua’s anointing turns victims into victors who gather testimony from the place of battle.
“You Who Kill the Prophets” (Matthew 23:37 / מתי כ״ג:ל״ז)
English:
“Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing.” — Matthew 23:37 / מַתִּתְיָהוּ כ״ג:ל״ז
Yeshua exposes a spiritual pattern: humanity often ignores or rationalizes Elohim’s hardest instructions—especially those demanding action and obedience. Today this repeats when parts of the Kehilah spiritualize away the literal restoration of Israel.
The Call to the Nations (Isaiah 49:22 / ישעיהו מ״ט:כ״ב)

“Thus says the Lord Elohim: Behold, I will lift up My hand to the nations, and raise My banner (נֵס, nes) to the peoples; they shall bring your sons in their arms, and your daughters shall be carried on their shoulders.” — Isaiah 49:22 / ישעיהו מ״ט:כ״ב
This is not mere poetry; it is commission. The nations are summoned by Elohim to partner in Aliyah—to help bring His people home. To neglect this is not neutrality; it is the sin of omission.
Sin of Omission & “Ignorance Is No Excuse”
James 4:17 / יַעֲקֹב ד׳:י״ז: “To the one who knows to do good and does not do it—to him it is sin.”
Acts 17:30 / מַעֲשֵׂי הַשְּׁלִיחִים י״ז:ל׳: “The times of ignorance Elohim overlooked, but now He commands all people everywhere to repent.”
Hosea 4:6 / הוֹשֵׁעַ ד׳:ו׳: “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you.”
When prophecy is open before our eyes, “I didn’t know” is no longer a defense. The prophets wrote it; Yeshua confirmed it; history and headlines testify to it. Knowledge demands obedience.
Trust vs. Fear after the Fall of Jerusalem (Jeremiah 42:7–17 / ירמיהו מ״ב:ז׳–י״ז)

וַיְהִי מִקְצֵה עֲשֶׂרֶת יָמִים וַיְהִי דְבַר־יְהוָה אֶל־יִרְמְיָהוּ.
וַיִּקְרָא אֶת־יוֹחָנָן בֶּן־קָרֵחַ וְאֵת כָּל־שָׂרֵי הַחֲיָלִים אֲשֶׁר אִתּוֹ וְאֵת כָּל־הָעָם מִקָּטֹן וְעַד־גָּדוֹל.
וַיֹּאמֶר אֲלֵיהֶם כֹּה אָמַר יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל אֲשֶׁר שְׁלַחְתֶּם אֹתִי לְהַפִּיל תְּחִנַּתְכֶם לְפָנָיו.

אַל־תִּירְאוּ מִפְּנֵי מֶלֶךְ בָּבֶל אֲשֶׁר אַתֶּם יְרֵאִים מִפָּנָיו, אַל־תִּירְאוּ אֹתוֹ נְאֻם־יְהוָה, כִּי אִתְּכֶם אָנִי לְהוֹשִׁיעֲכֶם וּלְהַצִּיל אֶתְכֶם מִיָּדוֹ.
וְאֶתֵּן לָכֶם רַחֲמִים וְרִחַם אֶתְכֶם וְהֵשִׁיב אֶתְכֶם אֶל־אַדְמַתְכֶם.

וְאִם־אֹמְרִים אַתֶּם לֹא נֵשֵׁב בָּאָרֶץ… אֶרֶץ מִצְרַיִם נָבוֹא… וְהָיָה הַחֶרֶב אֲשֶׁר אַתֶּם יְרֵאִים מִמֶּנָּה שָׁם תַּשִּׂיג אֶתְכֶם… וּשְׁמַתֶּם שָׁם… — ירמיהו מ״ב:י״ג–י״ז
English (13–17):
“If you say… ‘We will go to Egypt’… then the sword which you fear shall overtake you there… and there you shall die.” — Jeremiah 42:13–17 / ירמיהו מ״ב:י״ג–י״ז
Insight: After 586 BCE, a terrified remnant planned to flee to Egypt (human security). Elohim commanded, “Stay, and I will save you.” They chose fear; judgment followed. The application is timeless: when Elohim says remain and trust, do not flee to the world’s answers.
Saved Out of Jacob’s Trouble—Refined by Fire
Jeremiah 30:7 / ירמיהו ל׳:ז׳: “It is the time of Jacob’s trouble, but he shall be saved out of it.”
Zechariah 13:9 / זכריה י״ג:ט׳: “I will bring the third part through the fire… refine them as silver… test them as gold; they will call on My Name and I will answer.”
Scripture does not promise an escape from all shaking, but salvation through it. Refining fire prepares Israel—and all who cling to the Elohim of Israel—to shine.
The Banner—נֵס (Nes): From Serpent to Salvation
Numbers 21:8–9 / במדבר כ״א:ח׳–ט׳ (English & key Hebrew term):
“Make a fiery serpent and set it on a pole (נֵס, nes)… and everyone who looks shall live.”
What killed became, when lifted, the sign that healed.
John 3:14–15 / יוחנן ג׳:י״ד–ט״ו:
“As Moses lifted up the serpent… so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should have eternal life.”
Yeshua is the living banner—the Nes—raised for all.
Isaiah 11:10 / ישעיהו י״א:י׳ (English & key Hebrew):
“The Root of Jesse shall stand as a banner (נֵס) for the peoples; the nations shall seek Him…”
Isaiah 49:22 / ישעיהו מ״ט:כ״ב (reprise):
Elohim raises a nes to summon the nations to carry Israel’s sons and daughters. The banner is both miracle and mission.
“Baruch Haba” and the Condition for His Return (Matthew 23:39 / מתי כ״ג:ל״ט)
Hebrew (Modern Translation):
כִּי אוֹמֵר אֲנִי לָכֶם, לֹא תִרְאוּנִי מֵעַתָּה עַד אֲשֶׁר תֹּאמְרוּ,
בָּרוּךְ הַבָּא בְּשֵׁם יְהוָה.
English:
“For I tell you, you will not see Me again until you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the Name of YHWH.’” — quoting Psalm 118:26 / תהילים קי״ח:כ״ו
Yeshua ties His visible return to the national cry of Israel: Baruch Haba B’Shem YHWH. The Kehilah’s role is to comfort, stand with, and provoke to praise, until this cry rises from Jerusalem.
The Day of Vengeance and the Year of Favor (Isaiah 61:1–6 / ישעיהו ס״א:א׳–ו׳)

רוּחַ אֲדֹנָי יְהוָה עָלָי,
יַעַן מָשַׁח יְהוָה אֹתִי,
לְבַשֵּׂר עֲנָוִים,
שְׁלָחַנִי לַחֲבֹשׁ לְנִשְׁבְּרֵי־לֵב,
לִקְרֹא לִשְׁבוּיִם דְּרוֹר,
וְלַאֲסוּרִים פְּקַח־קוֹחַ;
לִקְרֹא שְׁנַת־רָצוֹן לַיהוָה,
וְיוֹם נָקָם לֵאלֹהֵינוּ;
לְנַחֵם כָּל־אֲבֵלִים;
לָשׂוּם לַאֲבֵלֵי צִיּוֹן,
לָתֵת לָהֶם פְּאֵר תַּחַת אֵפֶר,
שֶׁמֶן שָׂשׂוֹן תַּחַת אֵבֶל,
מַעֲטֵה תְהִלָּה תַּחַת רוּחַ כֵּהָה;
וְקֹרָא לָהֶם אֵילֵי הַצֶּדֶק,
מַטַּע יְהוָה לְהִתְפָּאֵר.
וּבָנוּ חָרְבֹת עוֹלָם…
וְאַתֶּם כֹּהֲנֵי יְהוָה תִּקָּרֵאוּ…
English:
“The Spirit of the Lord Elohim is upon me… to bind up the brokenhearted; to proclaim liberty… to proclaim the year of YHWH’s favor and the day of vengeance of our Elohim… to give them a garment of praise instead of a faint spirit… They shall be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of YHWH… They shall rebuild the ancient ruins… You shall be called priests of YHWH…”
Here is the exchange the Messiah brings: ashes → beauty, mourning → oil of joy, heaviness → garment of praise. From this transformation rises a people who rebuild, raise up, and repair—a description tailor-made for Aliyah, absorption, and national restoration.
“Garment of Praise” — מַעֲטֵה תְּהִלָּה (Isaiah 61:3 / ישעיהו ס״א:ג׳)
מַעֲטֵה (ma‘ăṭeh) — a mantle/garment, from עָטָה “to wrap, cover.”
תְּהִלָּה (tehillah) — praise/renown, from הָלַל “to shine, boast.”
רוּחַ כֵּהָה — “a dim/heavy spirit.”
To put on this garment is an intentional act of worship that displaces heaviness and announces Elohim’s renown. It is also priestly: the Kehilah is clothed to minister—“You shall be called priests of YHWH” (Isa 61:6).
“Oaks of Righteousness… Planting of YHWH” (Isaiah 61:3 / ישעיהו ס״א:ג׳)
Hebrew:
וְקֹרָא לָהֶם אֵילֵי הַצֶּדֶק, מַטַּע יְהוָה לְהִתְפָּאֵר.
אֵילֵי הַצֶּדֶק (eilei ha-tzedek) — mighty/oak-like ones in righteousness.
מַטַּע יְהוָה (matta‘ YHWH) — planting of YHWH.
לְהִתְפָּאֵר — that He might display His glory.
Restored people become living praise. Their very stability, fruitfulness, and justice reveal Elohim’s splendor. In our day, the visible rebuilding of Israel is exactly this matta‘ YHWH—His own planting for His renown.
From Disgrace to Glory: The Name Sanctified
Isaiah 43:10, 21 / ישעיהו מ״ג:י׳, כ״א: “You are My witnesses… This people I have formed for Myself; they shall declare My praise.”
Ezekiel 36:20–23 / יחזקאל ל״ו:כ׳–כ״ג: Even exile led nations to profane the Name—but Elohim says, “I will sanctify My great Name… and the nations shall know that I am YHWH, when I am sanctified in you before their eyes.”
The Shoah was a night beyond words, yet from ashes came resurrection: 1948, Aliyah, revival of Hebrew, the greening of the Land. Elohim is sanctifying His Name in Israel’s visible restoration.
Practical Implications for the Kehilah Today
Hear the Anointing (Luke 4 / Isaiah 61). The Messiah’s mission is our template: bind up the brokenhearted, open prisons, comfort mourners in Zion, rebuild ruins.
Reject Egypt’s Illusions (Jeremiah 42). Fear seeks worldly refuge; faith remains where Elohim speaks.
Embrace the Nes (Banner). Lift up Yeshua and lift up Aliyah—the miracle and the mission.
Repent of Omission. Knowing the mandate (Isa 49:22) yet doing nothing is sin (James 4:17).
Pray for “Baruch Haba.” Align with the promise that Israel will welcome the King (Matt 23:39).
Wear the Garment of Praise. Minister to the faint in spirit until oaks of righteousness rise across the Land.
Build as Priests. The Kehilah’s identity in this passage is priestly and practical: feed, house, teach Hebrew, equip with dignified work—and disciple nations to serve Israel’s restoration.

מֵעַתָּה וְעַד־עוֹלָם, יְהִי שֵׁם יְהוָה מְבֹרָךְ.
From this time forth and forevermore, let the Name of YHWH be blessed.
Declaration:
Messiah Yeshua, Anointed One, let Your Ruach rest on us to comfort Zion, to proclaim liberty, to raise the banner, and to rebuild the ancient ruins. Clothe us with the garment of praise.
