I Am for peace
Psalm 120 – I Am for Peace
In my distress I cried unto YHWH (Jehovah), and He answered me.
Deliver my soul, O YHWH, from lying lips and from a deceitful tongue.
What shall be given unto thee, and what shall be done more unto thee, thou deceitful tongue?
Sharp arrows of the mighty, with coals of juniper.
Woe is me, that I sojourn in Meshech, that I dwell among the tents of Kedar!
My soul hath long had her dwelling with him that hateth peace.
I am for peace: but when I speak, they are for war.
Psalm 121 – A Song of Ascents
Restoration of Israel (Amos 9:11-15):
The tone shifts dramatically in the final section, offering hope and the promise of restoration. Elohim declares that He will rebuild the fallen “tabernacle of David” and restore Israel to prosperity. The land will yield abundance, and the people will return to their land, never to be uprooted again.
The closing verses emphasize hope and renewal. The “tent of David” symbolizes the reestablishment of the Davidic dynasty and points toward the Messianic expectation.
Acts 15:16-18 – James quotes Amos 9:11 during the Jerusalem Council to affirm that Gentiles are part of Elohim’s redemptive plan through Yeshua, reflecting the inclusion of all nations in Elohim’s kingdom.
Isaiah 60:5 (Key Verse):
“Then you will look and be radiant, your heart will throb and swell with joy; the wealth on the seas will be brought to you,
to you the riches of the nations will come.”
This chapter speaks of Zion’s future glory. It describes a time when Elohim’s light shines upon Israel, attracting nations and kings to its brightness.
Messianic Vision:
Many interpret this as referring to the Messianic age, where the Messiah reigns from Jerusalem, and the nations bring their wealth as a sign of reverence and recognition of His kingship. This vision appears in Revelation 21:24-26, where the New Jerusalem receives the glory and honor of the nations.
Psalm 24 – The King of Glory
The earth is YHWH’s, and the fullness thereof,
the world and those who dwell therein,
for He has founded it upon the seas
and established it upon the rivers.
Who shall ascend the hill of YHWH?
And who shall stand in His holy place?
He who has clean hands and a pure heart,
who does not lift up his soul to what is false
and does not swear deceitfully.
He will receive blessing from YHWH
and righteousness from the Elohim of his salvation.
Such is the generation of those who seek Him,
who seek the face of the Elohim of Jacob. Selah
Lift up your heads, O gates!
And be lifted up, O ancient doors,
that the King of glory may come in.
Who is this King of glory?
YHWH, strong and mighty,
YHWH, mighty in battle!
Lift up your heads, O gates!
And lift them up, O ancient doors,
that the King of glory may come in.
Who is this King of glory?
YHWH of hosts,
He is the King of glory! Selah
Isaiah 49:6 (ESV):
“It is too light a thing that you should be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob and to bring back the preserved of Israel; I will make you as a light for the nations, that my salvation may reach to the end of the earth.”
John 14 (Yeshua’s Words):
“Let not your heart be troubled: believe in Elohim, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I come again, and will receive you unto myself; that where I am, you may be also. I am the way, and the truth, and the life: no one comes unto the Father but by me.”
Habakkuk 2:4 (KJV):
“Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.”
Isaiah 59:20-21 (KJV):
“And a Redeemer will come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith YHWH. And as for me, this is my covenant with them, saith YHWH: my Spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed’s seed, saith YHWH, from henceforth and for ever.”
