The Process of Inheritance, the Red Heifer, and the Restoration of Israel
The Question of Inheritance
The story of Israel, the red heifer, and the promise of the Kingdom are all connected to the deeper mystery of inheritance. Inheritance is not immediate possession—it is a process. Abraham was given a promise from Elohim:
“I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
Yet Abraham did not immediately possess the land. Hebrews 11 reminds us that he “sojourned in the land of promise, as in a foreign country” (Hebrews 11:9). Inheritance is both a promise and a process that requires faith, obedience, and timing.
The Red Heifer: Purification for the Inheritance
One of the most mysterious commandments in Torah is the ordinance of the red heifer (פרה אדומה, Parah Adumah).
“And a man who is clean shall gather up the ashes of the heifer and deposit them outside the camp in a clean place, and it shall be kept for the congregation of the children of Israel for water for impurity; it is a purification offering.”
This ritual was required for those who became ritually unclean through contact with death. Without the sprinkling of the water mixed with ashes, one could not approach the Tabernacle or the Temple. The paradox of the red heifer is that it purified the unclean but rendered the priest who prepared it unclean (Mishnah Parah 4:4). This is considered a chok (חוק), a decree beyond human understanding.
The Mishnah records that from Moses until the destruction of the Second Temple, only nine red heifers were prepared. The tenth, it says, will be prepared by the King Messiah Himself (Mishnah Parah 3:5).
Messianic Fulfillment in Yeshua
The book of Hebrews draws a connection between the red heifer and the atoning blood of Messiah Yeshua:
πόσῳ μᾶλλον τὸ αἷμα τοῦ מָשִׁיחַ, ὃς διὰ πνεύματος αἰωνίου ἑαυτὸν προσήνεγκεν ἄμωμον τῷ אֱלֹהִים, καθαριεῖ τὴν συνείδησιν ἡμῶν ἀπὸ νεκρῶν ἔργων εἰς τὸ λατρεύειν θεῷ ζῶντι;
“For if the blood of goats and bulls, and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctify for the purification of the flesh, how much more will the blood of Messiah, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to Elohim, purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living Elohim?”
Thus, the red heifer is there for cleansing the flesh but there is also a pointing to the deeper purification—the cleansing of the conscience—through Messiah Yeshua.
Exile, Regathering, and the Hand of Elohim
Throughout history, Elohim has raised up leaders, both righteous and pagan, to accomplish His purposes. Nebuchadnezzar was raised up to bring judgment and exile (Jeremiah 25:9). But Elohim also raised up Herzl and Ben-Gurion to gather Israel back into the Land.
“Then I will take you from among the nations, gather you out of all countries, and bring you into your own land. Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean… I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you.”
This regathering is happening nowadays. Aliyah is not a political accident—it is divine orchestration. Even the existence of the Aliyah Return Center is a sign of this prophetic restoration.
The Coming Kingdom
The disciples asked Yeshua in Acts 1:6:
“Master, will you at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?”
His answer was that the timing belongs to the Father. Yet He promised that all things would be fulfilled. Daniel foresaw this:
“And in the days of these kings shall the Elohim of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever.”
The red heifers being prepared today in Israel, the regathering of exiles, and the signs of the times all point toward the soon-coming Kingdom.
Israel’s Purification and Restoration
“He shall cause those who come of Jacob to take root: Israel shall blossom and bud, and fill the face of the world with fruit.”
This prophecy speaks of the national and spiritual restoration of Israel. Through Aliyah, Israel is taking root again. Through the Spirit, Israel will blossom. Through Messiah, Israel will bear fruit for the world.
The Pattern of Inheritance
Promise before possession – Abraham received the promise but waited.
Journey and obedience – Israel walked through wilderness and testing.
Warfare – Joshua fought for the land. Inheritance is not passive.
Conditional covenant – Obedience brings blessing; rebellion brings exile.
Messianic inheritance – Through Messiah Yeshua, believers inherit Abraham’s promises (Romans 8:17; Galatians 3:29).
Final inheritance – Both the physical Land of Israel and the eternal Kingdom of Elohim.
Delivering Godly Wisdom
Inheritance is not only about land but also wisdom.
“A wise man will hear and increase learning, and a man of understanding will attain wise counsel.”
Wisdom is to be shared with discernment and humility (Proverbs 11:2). Messiah Yeshua told His disciples:
Matthew 10:8 (מתי י:ח)
“Freely you have received; freely give.”
The wisdom of Elohim is a gift to be shared with humility, especially in days of deception and difficulty (2 Timothy 3:1–5).
Attacks Will Fail—Victory in Messiah
Though enemies rise against Israel and the Kehilah, Elohim promises victory:
“For evildoers shall be cut off, but those that wait upon Adonai, they shall inherit the earth.”
Romans 8:37 (רומים ח:לז)
“Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.”
Revelation 2:26 (התגלות ב:כו)
“To the one who overcomes and does My will to the end, I will give authority over the nations.”
Victory belongs to those who endure with Messiah.
Conclusion: The Great Restoration
The red heifer points to purification. The exile points to the seriousness of disobedience. The regathering points to the faithfulness of Elohim. And Messiah Yeshua points to the final inheritance—the eternal Kingdom where Israel is restored and all nations are blessed.
“For you shall not go out with haste, nor go by flight: for Adonai will go before you, and the Elohei Yisrael will be your rear guard.”
The inheritance is coming into fullness. Soon, all Israel will say:
We are in THE month if ELUL
Song of Songs 6:3 (שיר השירים ו:ג)
“I am my beloved’s, and my beloved is mine.”
And the Kingdom of Elohim will stand forever.
