Travailing Prayer is the Breakthrough Template

A Movement of Worship, Prayer, and Revival

David Bradshaw is the founder of Awaken the Dawn (ATD), a grassroots movement dedicated to day-and-night worship, prayer, and missions. ATD seeks to bring the presence of Elohim into cities and campuses across America and beyond. In 2017, the movement organized a significant event on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., featuring 58 tents—one for each state—hosting continuous worship, prayer, and outreach. This gathering attracted approximately 50,000 attendees and reached 4 million online viewers.

Building on this momentum, ATD has since facilitated over 800 tent gatherings nationwide through initiatives like Tent America and Big Tent events. These gatherings focus on worship, prayer, and evangelism, aiming to inspire a new movement centered on Yeshua across the nation.

In 2021, David Bradshaw authored “Awaken the Dawn: An Adventure in Hosting Yeshua’s Presence and Discovering Your Part in the Story,” chronicling the journey and vision of the movement.

Travailing Prayer Brings Breakthrough

The spirit of Eliyahu must arise.

Daniel knew that Elohim would prevail.

The righteous must be discerning.

Priests and Kings must arise in their appointed places.

Eyes to see, ears to hear.

All across the world, the hunger for truth increases.

No more pulling the wool over the eyes. This is a time for the revealing of truth, for Elohim to expose deception and bring clarity to those who seek Him in righteousness.

Nachshon Ben Aminadav: A Leader of Faith

Nachshon ben Aminadav is a pivotal figure in Jewish tradition, known for his bold leadership and faith during the Exodus. He was the prince (nasi) of the tribe of Judah and the brother-in-law of Aaron the High Priest, as his sister, Elisheva, was married to Aaron (Exodus 6:23).

Nachshon’s Role in the Exodus

According to Midrashic tradition, when the Israelites were trapped between the Red Sea and Pharaoh’s army, Moses prayed for divine intervention. Elohim instructed Moses to tell the people to move forward (Exodus 14:15). However, the sea had not yet split, and the Israelites hesitated.

Nachshon, demonstrating immense faith, was the first to enter the sea. The Midrash (Sotah 37a, Mechilta of Rabbi Ishmael) describes how the water rose to his neck before the miracle occurred, at which point the sea split.

This act made him a symbol of courage, faith, and leadership.

Nachshon’s Legacy

A forefather of the Davidic dynasty, as his descendant was King David (Ruth 4:20-22).

He is listed in Numbers 1:7 as the leader of the tribe of Judah during the wilderness census.

In Numbers 7:12-17, he was the first tribal leader to bring a dedication offering for the Mishkan (Tabernacle).

The Talmud (Bava Batra 91b) credits him as one of the righteous leaders of Israel.

Nachshon’s leap into the sea is often cited as an example of “taking the first step in faith”, even when the outcome is uncertain. It mirrors the call today for those who believe in Elohim to step out in faith, even when the battle looks impossible.

Priests (Kohanim) and Kings (Melachim) in Israel’s Leadership

The roles of priests (kohanim) and kings (melachim) in biblical Israel were distinct yet interconnected, each serving a unique function in the spiritual and political leadership of the nation. Elohim established these roles separately, ensuring a balance of power between religious and civil authority.

  1. Priests (Kohanim) – Spiritual Leadership

The kohanim (priests) were descendants of Aaron, from the tribe of Levi. Their primary responsibilities were:

Temple Service – Offering sacrifices, maintaining the menorah, and ensuring the rituals of the Tabernacle and later the Temple in Jerusalem.

Teaching the Torah – Instructing the people in Elohim’s laws (Leviticus 10:11, Malachi 2:7).

Blessing the People – The Birkat Kohanim (Priestly Blessing) (Numbers 6:22-27).

Acting as Judges – In matters of ritual purity, disease (tzara’at), and certain legal cases (Deuteronomy 17:8-10).

Maintaining Holiness – Kohanim were held to stricter standards of purity, marriage, and conduct (Leviticus 21).

The High Priest (Kohen Gadol)

The Kohen Gadol (High Priest) had an elevated role:

Entering the Holy of Holies once a year on Yom Kippur to seek atonement for Israel (Leviticus 16).

Wearing unique garments, including the breastplate (choshen mishpat) with the Urim and Thummim for divine guidance.

  1. Kings (Melachim) – Political and Military Leadership

The institution of kingship in Israel was established to provide governance, military defense, and national unity.

Key Aspects of Kingship

Chosen by Elohim – The Torah allows for a king but insists that he be divinely chosen (Deuteronomy 17:14-20).

Obligations of a King:

Must write a Torah scroll and study it daily to remain humble (Deuteronomy 17:18-20).

Cannot amass excessive wealth, wives, or horses, to prevent arrogance and alliances with Egypt.

Must lead in battle and uphold justice (1 Samuel 8:20).

Prophetic Warnings and the 77th Year of Israel

A new year, a fifth year of the altar of prayer.

A year of truth – No nonsense.

Psalm 66:12 – “Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water: but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place.”

A time for the righteous to stand.

No weariness in well-doing.

A harvest shall spring forth.

Elohim is holy in the midst of Israel.

A time of mourning, but also a time of victory.

The Wakf and the Land of Israel

The Jordanian Wakf controlling the Temple Mount is an affront to Elohim’s plan for His Holy Mountain. The time will come when truth and righteousness will be restored in Zion.

Call to Action

Commit to prayer.

Rise in discernment.

Stand for truth.

Awaken the dawn.

Let righteousness shine forth.

For those who hunger for truth, for those who feel the urgency of the times, for those who sense that history is at a turning point—the call is clear. The time to stand for Elohim’s purposes is now. The time for travailing prayer has arrived. Let the faithful arise!
